I wanted to create a scene that tapped into the same sense of wonder and drive for exploration that I crave in games. The differences in elevation throughout not only assists with the flow of movement throughout the scene but provides opportunities to create vastly different experiences in a limited horizontal space depending on the player's point of view. e.g. The bridges and island plateau that greet the player at the start of the scene reveal the vast potential of the scene to explore. As the player moves into the lower basin, those same bridges and plateau become oppressive structures looming overhead to help create a foreboding and claustrophobic space.
